Honest question: why can't CelebrityMoney be used to buy Brittney Griner's freedom?  Like with Saudi Arabia, I'm sure Russia would show "compassion" and grant release if they have millions funneled to them to purchase that favor.  If LeBron and Kanye got together with funds -- guys with money, couldn't that happen?  Celebrities get purchased to play, can't they buy her freedom too if they were willing to negotiate the rights?

Most everything can be bought on the right markets today. And America leads the world in providing the markets right now, right?  So why can't we buy her freedom back?  People would kick in if pressure were applied.  Shame them, that works today, right?  Even if the war escalates, will the sporting diversions continue if things get really bad economically again?  Nuclear dirty bombs might spook worldwide gatherings, I would think. No?
