Is Ukraine America's Latest Viet Nam?

 If indeed Bakhmut has fallen 15 months after the invasion begain, will America and her allies reassess their financial and militaristic support for the region?  Or will we be there for decades, justifying our initial involvement with more and more American treasure expended to ... stop communism from spreading?

Isn't there anybody in the news reporting ranks today that didn't come up a cheerleader in the industry?
