But Biden's middle name is Robinette, not Robinson.

So... did Dowd plagiarize from the parody Pitchbot, are the copy editors remaining reading that site, or is it really a coincidence?  Not a good look for the NYT, either way.

We get it:  all hands needed on deck for the Anti-Trump crusade!

But can't you at least come up with fresh ideas and fresh copy to plug your preferred candidate?  This just looks... bad, even if we're fully in the "cooperative Journolism days" ushered in by The Ezra Klein Show.  (I wonder who makes more? Maureen or Ez?  He's got a family to support, and is/was a young wunderkin with all the technology tricks needed to teach the old dogs at the NYT a thing about writing and reporting in the digital age.  But she's her own brand, and she's a woman in Washinton, where they still don't have much power, truth be told...  I bet he takes home more than her, for all her years of service. )

C'mon Maureen, if you're still the " writer representing" ... do better, girl!  If you're going to write about politics, don't take your writing tips from the pitchbot.  Try to think up a unique angle, all your own?

"It doesn’t get better than when the style is so ingrained, and the compulsion is so strong that even knowing they have been scooped by an inkslinger, satirizing them, they still run the headline"

Just you wait... I bet her buddy Professor Bruni gives her props in his "newsletter" highlighting the best journalistic practices of the week, maybe even pulls her in as the celebrity guest speaker in one of his j-school classes at Duke.  Boy, that one sure had a soft landing after "leaving" the NYT.  He's double dipping:  "teaching" (networking in) the wealthy students studying journalsism at Duke, AND continuing to "contribute" at the Times via his weekly "newsletter" where he highlights his friends' work.

Nope, no conflicts there. ;-)  He's just selling access, nothing wrong with that, right??  Who needs skilled reporting when you know the former food-editor-turned-gay-colunmist-turned-professor?  He's there to TEACH everything he knows about journalism, and if the students don't go running to him for advice on how to succeed in the business, they're lazy.  Lol.

They just don't see it yet, do they?  Life is so easy in their worlds, everything just drops into their laps like that... Why can't the rest of us just do the same, eh?  lol  Enjoy it while it lasts, Mr. Bruni and Ms. Dowd.  There's people coming up who can do the job better, and will.

But you take your time, enjoy your parting gifts, and "pull in" to the profession your successors.  I'm sure nothing could go wrong with that game plan, that you're fully serving your employer(s) and your field of study, not yourself.  Right?

You DESERVE what you have, you've worked your way up, and it's all due to your hard skills, not your soft touch and smooze-ing over drinks and dinner with your buds.  lol

ADDED:  (Even David Brooks seems to admit the gig is up!  and ain't no white person columnist more entrenched at the NYT, building up his person brand on the platform than him...)
