Big News if True.
Another snippet of news, in the fine print (paywall):
From the early days of the crisis, Qatar has been mediating behind-the-scenes negotiations with Israel, Hamas and the United States for a deal to secure the release of Israelis and others being held in Gaza.
Last month an agreement was close to being finalized, according to current and former officials in three of the involved regional capitals, for the release of all civilian women, children, older adults and the sick in exchange for a five-day cessation of hostilities and to allow more humanitarian assistance to enter Gaza.
Who is directing this war anyway? The U.S. Congress is providing the funding. Don't we American taxpayers have a say in our foreign policy objectives? How about the hostage's families in Israel?
I hate to think Congress will abdicate its role in declaring and funding wars the way they have abdicated their role representing American interests in our immigration policies to the coyotes currently determining how many cross our borders.
What a jolt to think Bibi Netanyahu is in charge of American defense and foreign policy interests today more than the American people.
Hm. How long will this hold before the center reclaims her own? Things are not falling apart, it just appears that way...
