David French Thinks America Won the Iraqi War and "Helped"?

I guess he'd be as suicidal as some soldiers who actually served if he admitted the truth to himself.  That war was a deadly disaster for Americans, except for men like him who are now selling his JAG officer experience as making him a military strategist and the fine military pension he collects.  (I think they pinned a medal on him too. lol)

You didn't protect the people, Dave.  And enough with the "stolen valor" to boost your conservative career credit. You've got it backwards: American military acts killed a lot of civilians, women and children too, by fellas like him playing dress-up soldier/lawyers and defending those tasked with the dirty deeds:

  1. The American military turned the tide during the surge by adopting a fundamentally different approach. Our mantra was “protect the population.” When we engaged in offensive operations, we didn’t strike and immediately move, we struck and stayed. We made sure that families were safe, food supplies were secure, and even that markets could reopen. We put ourselves in the middle of cities and towns and rural communities until we were certain there was no power vacuum left to be filled. It was hard, dangerous and slow, but it worked.
