Back in Competition, It’s Like Simone Biles Never Left

Biles won the U.S. Classic by 5 points in her return to elite gymnastics, after she withdrew from the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. This is the little lady who withdrew from Olympics competition, letting her team down but prioritizing her mental health, we were told.  The  pressure to Be the Best was just too much.  They built her up like she was the Second Coming, and she could not handle all the pressure, we were told.

Surely there are other gymnasts competing, or the event as a whole could be covered?  Glad she won, and appears to be doing better, but leave her alone to compete at her level and don't make her out to be the sports biggest superstar...

It doesn't benefit her, nor the sport. (and if you're not a sports newspaper, this is small n news.  Just skip pressuring Biles in any way by putting her name in headlines and creating expections that would affect her mental health at the highest levels.
