More Joyful Speeches and Hopey Wordplay...

What exactly is this built on?  Other than a change of characters, what underlies the new joy in America?  We've never been closer to another world war (do you think Iran was paid off not to strike Israel until the election is over, or is the idea to keep all those in Tel Aviv and elsewhere on edge as long as possible;  I think Iran is disciplined enough militarily to play the long game here...). We have more people living on our streets than ever before, and more nonprotected (illegal) immigrant laborers than ever.  (Immigrant workers, the "non professionals", are always exploited in my observation; that's built into the American system... but those without any citizenship protections whatsoever?  It sickening what the race to the bottom, using people so the rich can grow richer on the newcomers' work, has done to growing economic inequality in our shared nation

Can we repair our country and bridge these gulfs?  Of course.  But we'll never get there with happy warriors armed only with the ability to divide us up, and words of promise and hope and joy that aren't real.   We need workers who can get the job done in this country... whether they are white, immigrants, first generation, and "nobody nobody sent".

America has lost its competitive edge in so many industries (don't mistake making money with being competitive...) and globally we're not the leaders we once were, in many fields.  We need to be honest, and reward those who are honest and product:  nevermind the pretty windowdressing or who tells you the things you want to hear, or who parrots back weeks or months later what they consumed from primary sources and passed on as their own "work".

November is closer than you think... will the Israel problem be solved by then?  Will the kids being honestly critical on the college campuses be appeased? (you'll never get them to voluntarily surrender their First Amendment rights to protest;  you'll never break the honesty of Youth who call out injustices in the world, no matter how many you expel, arrest or phyically attack, you understand that, right?)

I honestly think, looking ahead, that this presidential election will be decided on the issues, not on some artificial feeling of joy that will very quickly dissipate if America elects someone who is not up to the job.  Were I Kamala, I'd call off the troops on my behalf attacking other Americans.  I'd stop with the national division, trivial digs, and focus on what American voters care about, which Donald Trump highlighted in his political rise:

1)  We cannot be attacking the world by supplying weapons to our favored nations (which our politicians, and their offspring, do business in and make promises on behalf of our government and military that benefit themselves financially but essentially sell the country, our country, out...)  while leaving the barn door wide open down south... America is creating enemies for ourselves, by linking ourselves to the evil acts of the nations we supply with weapons they are not yet mature enough to produces themselves, or properly trained on how to use.  ie/ no attacking unarmed civilians!)  If you reward countries for "breaking the rules" (ie/ Israel "secretly" arming themselves w/nukes which are militarily denied to other countries whom they relentlessly attack...), then your own people will pay.  Nobody wants to see dead US babies here, do they?   What's Kamala's plan and how does it differ from "Genocide Joe" 's?  Stop being so damn joyful and be straight with us if you want our votes.  (Where's OUR Iron Dome?)

2)  Why should we trust the wealthy Dem politicians to deliver economic plans that lift all Americans when they clearly make promises they do not keep, and serve only to enrich themselves and flee us as soon as they are able?  We get it:  politics is enriching for you... What does Kamala plan to do on Day 1 to bring about living wages so that every American who works 40hours a week has adequate food and shelter in today's marketplaces?

3)  Housing.  We should have been on this for decades as more and more people poured across our borders who will need places to live... Any plans not to house (in nice hotels) the people coming in, but to ensure a bed and a roof over the heads of all the people already here?

4)  Drugs.  If they're also coming across our borders, and affecting Americans at home, you damn well better pump some money into therapy, treatment, alternative activities, housing, group homes, shelters, healthcare... You can try to "tough love" them all you like;  but you have to fix the problem.  You can't wish it away or tell us not to worry because y'all live in gated communities, travel with security, and don't really give a shit what happens to the rest of us trying to get through daily life with more and more sick drug addled folks living in our midst.  (no, you cannot lock them up forever either.  Either take down the supply or address the needs of those addicts dealing with the heavy drugs that now flood the marketplace... it's not just MJ and booze anymore, our social ills.  Best acknowledge that, and come up with some treatment plans to protect the public... like secondhand smoke once affected us all.)

5)  Social Security, Social Security, Social Security.

It's long past time for America to invest in its younger people.  If you think the social problems I have described above are bad today, imagine what they will be like in 20 years after our wealthy boomers have drained the Social Security funds, and Americans are told "tough tiddy" and "work longer".  Can you imagine what our streets will look like if you're planning for yourselves or your children to ever leave your gated communities and wealthy neighborhoods when the social safety nets in this country are gone?  It's time to address those issues, yesterday.  Get a plan.

6)  Did you really believe Jussie Smollet? Do you have a bias towards believing black people or minorities? Do you think you are a good judge of character? Do you think maybe you are misjudging our alleged ally Benyamin Netanyahu the way you did with Jussie Smollet? Hm.  (follow up:  How do you adjust when you learn you are wrong, and have misjudged someone? Do you owe an apology to the people of Chicago, or even people who wear the MAGA red hat, for the lies Jussie told and the costs he imposed on working taxpayers with his celebrity lies?)

We do not want to go back to those days of rewarding liars who are wealthy, black and celebrities for making false racial allegations that harm all of us.  Do you get that yet?  Does maybe Donald Trump have a point that we should stop demonizing "white" people for the color of their skin, and acting as though blacks (excuse me, Blacks) are b/Better? Hm.

I fear that under a Kamala executive branch, if she keeps the people from the political past she's got jawing at her convention the past two nights, nothing will really change.  Congress won't do shit; those "connected" will be rewarded despite their lack of performance/results; and our country will continue its decline...

If you want the best, you have to be honest. Listen to the critics.  Do the hard work of creating real #Change.  Stand up to those taking too much and giving back too little in return.  GIVE BACK YOURSELVES... where are the Obama libraries? (like Carnegie libraries, not the one the government is building Barry and Michelle by taking parkland from the people of Chicago, where the two choose to no longer reside instead feeding in greener pastures...)

Pretty sure people aren't going to be fooled again... Unless Kamala and Tim can really divorce themselves from the Biden administration, (and it doesn't look like they are even trying to do that...), I think there's too much time between now and November for reality to settle in.  Sure, send them out on a happy note of joyous celebration by tossing a big end of summer 2024 party, but for real?

The problems facing our nation don't go away just because we elect somebody who is attractive and tells us what we want to hear, without any solid plans to deliver on those promises.  (war, war, war... Obama was elected as an alternative to the Bush Cheney administation; he could not deliver.  Joe Biden has amped up our participation in global conflicts... Where is the #Change, Kamala??)

Barry Obama's career taught me that.
