Go You... NU!

Northwestern 17, Wisconsin 7:

Wildcats' defense dominates short-handed Badgers

Northwestern continues to be Wisconsin’s kryptonite, particularly in Evanston.

------------------

Turnovers were the story of the day, and the downfall for the Badgers College Football Playoff hopes, at least for now. Wisconsin turned the ball over five times, including three picks from redshirt freshman quarterback Graham Mertz.

Coming into this game without a single pick in his career to date, Mertz saw it all fall off the rails.

Mertz finished the day with 230 passing yards, one passing touchdown, three interceptions, 13 rushing yards, and no rushing touchdowns. He was also sacked three times on the day.

What went wrong for Wisconsin football

One of the worst offensive line performances in recent memory forced a lot of the turnovers from Wisconsin in their 10-point loss to Northwestern. As far as the stat sheet comparison goes, the Badgers looked pretty good. They out-gained the Northwestern offense by 104 total yards. Wisconsin was also pretty undisciplined in the loss. They were penalized eight times for 69 yards, compared to just one flag called on Northwestern for five yards.

This was the fourth time Northwestern has pitched a shutout in the second half in their five games this year so Wisconsin fell victim to many of the Cats' casualties.

Northwestern didn't see the most efficient day out of quarterback Peyton Ramsey. But he managed to take care of the football better than Mertz and racked up two passing touchdowns with no interceptions. Northwestern also struggled on the ground, getting just 26 rushing yards and no rushing scores. They averaged just north of one yard per carry (22 attempts on the day).

The win for the Wildcats moved them to a record of 5-0 (5-0 Big Ten). They actually have a pretty clear path to the Big Ten Championship Game now. Remaining on Northwestern's schedule is the Michigan State Spartans and Minnesota Golden Gophers on the road and the Illinois Fighting Illini at home to cap the regular season.

This Train... Has Got the Disappearin' Railroad Blues.

Good mornin' America, how are ya?

Don't you know me?  I'm your native son...

All the towns and people seem... to fade into a bad dream,

and the steel rail still ain't heard the news...

---------------

This train... don't carry no gamblers, this train.

This train don't carry no gamblers, this train...

No liars, thieves or big-shot ramblers, this train.

Speaking of ... "Retreat", Is It Finally Time to Bring All Troops Home from Afghanistan? I think it is...

 President Trump's ultimate legacy?

An end to affirmative action, American society's national condonents of abortion -- permitting individual to sacrifice up their potentially disabled children with society's blessings and provision of this medical "procdure" in all jurisdictions, and now?

A return home for all the still-adventure-seeking young (and old!) troops?

It's time. Pull the plug on that financial boondoggle once and for all...

And President Trump?  Thank you for your services.  Patriotism doesn't mean a blank check for warring anymore than humanity demands we provide women with medical procedures to kill the more vulnerable in our societies here, while local morals are silenced.

Make it a great weekend, friends.  Nevermind "pictures or it didn't happen!:  Just stay healthy and prove your strength to yourself, with God's help. Eyes on the prize, people.  You'll understand better what you're competing for, and who you're competing with...  *Hint?  It's not to "win" a war, gain a seat in rigged admissions, or prove our independence monetarily with your work... while someone else makes your supper and cares for your children.  Be the person you want to be? Strolling the suburbs, making meals, raising your own, or just reading and getting out.

God Love Us All.  That's not enough?

He Has Sounded Forth the Trumpet that Shall Never Call Retreat...

He is Sifting Out the Hearts of Man before the Judgement Seat.

So Be Swift My Soul to Answer Him; Be Jubilant My Feet...

Our God is Marching On.

Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory of the Coming of the Lord.

He is Trampling Out the Vintage Where the Grapes of Wrath are Stored.

He has Loosed the Fateful Lightning of His Terrible Swift Sword.

Our God is Marching On...

I have Seen Him in the Watchfires of a Hundred Circling Camps.

They Have Builded Him an Altar in the Evenings Dews and Damps.

I Can Read His Righteous Sentence by  the Dim and Flaring Lamps...

His Day is Marching On...

------

He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave,
He is Wisdom to the mighty, He is Succour to the brave,
So the world shall be His footstool, and the soul of Time His slave,
Our God is marching on.

Irish Defense Beats Number One Clemson in Double Overtime

The pass rush prevails. The number one team in American college football is upset.

But for everyone, surely, what we have gone through in this period — I am addressing myself to the School — surely from this period of ten months this is the lesson: never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never-in nothing, great or small, large or petty — never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense.

~Churchill.

ADDED:  Bad call, NBC. Nobody wants your national division. We want sports, pure and clean of the political games. Kamala Harris' grinning mug is sickening, considering she lost in the primaries, and yet was "awarded" the presidency herself, based on divisive identity politics.  Scores matter, and the press cannot win the country. Work will, and victors emerge through hard-fought pain and struggle. "As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be..."  America is not artificial, though Washington is.  Still we work. And rise. And turn off the laughing hyena who knows nothing of either.  Trust me: America will hate this woman and not accept her as our leader...  and don't even play the "race(s)" card here.  It's not her race, it's her character. Nobody voted for that, or her.  Defense, defense, defense.

Fans decry NBC for cutting into Clemson-ND for Biden speech

5 hours ago — The president-elect cut into one of the biggest games of the year. ... After five days of counting votes, former vice president Joe Biden was ... As Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris took the stage, fans took to Twitter ... NBC switched away from Clemson-Notre Dame to show Biden/Harris speeches.

Notre Dame's passion storms the field... Yes they did!

"Students stormed the field from all four corners of the stands, creating a mass celebration in the middle of the field. Notre Dame limits attendance to students, faculty and university personnel -- other than players' families -- and while Saturday's game drew only 11,011, most of them seemed to enter the field at the end. ...

Clemson players and coaches quickly exited to the tunnel in the northeast corner of the field, while most Notre Dame players and coaches headed for their tunnel. Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said he didn't mind the field rush from the Notre Dame fans, saying, "It was an epic game."

Notre Dame running back Kyren Williams said he was late getting to the postgame locker room celebration because he had to get through so many fans who had entered the field.

"That was a cool experience for me, everybody rushing down," said Williams, who had never witnessed a field storm before Saturday. "Coach Kelly told us before the game that it was going to happen. ... He told us to get inside after the game, fast."

Wide receiver Avery Davis said he got "bumped around" during the field storm but added, "I loved the energy."

The ACC did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the field storm at Notre Dame, a league member in football this season. Notre Dame recorded its ninth win against an AP No. 1 team and ended Clemson's 36-game regular-season win streak Saturday.

"It's something you expect with our great fans and our great community around us, they're really, really passionate about us playing football," Owusu-Koramoah said. "You expect something like that, storming the field, beating the No. 1 team. [Kelly] told us to get up out of there if they did storm the field, but it's kind of hard, so we just celebrated with them."

President Trump Wins the Must-Win States...

and yet the media fights on, tooth and nail. for their side as they have done all race...

Lots of red on that map of the nation.  Republican Red.
