Release the 9-11 Tape Already.

Openness and transparency, Police Chief.  What have you learned in the past two years? 

 Scott confirmed that Pelosi had called 911 from inside the house, but added that they were not releasing that call at this point in this investigation.

“Elected officials have a hard enough job as it is,” Scott added, criticizing how politicians’ families were being put at risk. “It’s wrong, and it needs to stop…these families aren’t in office, and even if they were, nobody deserves to have a violent assault and attack because they’re doing their jobs.”

“We can all disagree,” said Scott but “we need some civility here.” He called the conspiracy theories “pathetic” and “disturbing” and asked rhetorically what it would take to get people to stop promoting such “nonsense” 

The facts and questions aren't going away.  (How did the assailant get to the Pelosi mansion? Where are his pants?  Who is "David" and was Mr. Pelosi coherent when he was taken away and gave information to responding officers?

Truth is what is going to get people to stop promoting such nonsense.  The body cameras and 9-11 tapes need to be made public.  Just like in any other police investigation of late.  Sooner rather than later.

(Remember what it cost Rahm Emmanuel after he allegedly refused to watch the LaQuan McDonald case but approved the settlement after insisting he had not seen the video?  If Rahm couldn't pull that trick off -- keeping things quiet with the police in Chicago -- what makes the Pelosi's think they can bury the evidence here and rely on "unnamed sources" and the rumor mill to tell the story?

Release the 9-11 tape and the body cam video, for starters.  If it is what they say, it will put the country at ease that this is just a California crime problem, that even the wealthy cannot protect themselves in their homes out there anymore. 

It's Not So Much the One Position that Lesser Qualified Candidates Take...

 It's that they undercut the truly qualified and pull in people after them that are less qualified too because truly competitive candidates would blow the patronage system to smithereens not through violence or protests or symbolic actions, but because their solutions simply work better in reality.  It takes an awful lot of effort to cover for lesser qualified employees.  We see that now out here where we're at.  Do you?  What changes have YOU made to the world your parents knew and came of age in, and are preparing to hand down to you?  Did your work make it better for others via more equal opportunities... or did you just take part in selecting and welcoming a lesser-qualified "jackpot candidate" because of all you've been blessed with (and likely feel guilty for possessing, knowing there are stronger candidates out there that simply never were given as many "opportunities" as your parents took for you?

A.J. (sic) Sulzberger;  looking at you, buddy.  Hire talent, not plucking jackpot winners to reinforce your grandpa's echo chamber.  The future's coming for the rich men, too.

This could be anybody though.

This could be Nancy Pelosi calling and talking to her friend Maureen Dowd.  That's not a "source".  And journ-o-lism isn't about printing as truth in other media what another newspaper has reported as fact by an unnamed source.

It's become a gigantic circle jerk.  Who's on the record reporting the "Where is Nancy" line?  Paul Pelosi after he took the hammer hits to the head that allegedly fractured his skull?  The unnamed third person allegedly at the home that night?  The 9-11 dispatcher who sent help because she heard an "open line" (which could have been an accidentally triggered 9-11 call that politicos and journ-o-lists are in no hurry to push to release?)

Ezra Klein and his gang of colluding kids essentially broke journalism, because they believed the rules did not apply to activists pushing Obamacare.  Then, because they seemed to have succeeded -- and were much more digitally comfortable than the white men running the Times back then -- Ezra Klein was handsomely rewarded for breaking journalism.

Now, we're starting to see the results:  nobody trusts the media because they collude on the stores, withhold pertinent facts to package them up in more profitable venues, and can't tell a hoax from a legit news story if lives depended on it.

Own it, industry leaders.  You built this.  Voters will have to correct your actions, and level the ground again.  Yes we can.  And we will.  No problem with the doing here. Independently.  On the record. With sources named (not shamed).  Fuck all y'all if you're hiding the Truth and getting paid for it.   Enjoy that gravy train while it's still running...
