Supreme Court Temporarily Blocks Order Requiring Return of Wrongly Deported Man

Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. issued an interim measure meant to give the justices some breathing room while the full court considers the matter. A trial judge had earlier ordered the United States to return a man it had inadvertently deported to El Salvador.

Yesterday's Protests = Cory Booker's Long Speech*

Venting, letting off steam, but ultimately ineffective.

Why not push the US Congress -- the branch representative of the People -- to create a workable immigration policy for the nation?

ADDED:  Didn't the people learn anything about how ineffective these mass protests are from the "Abortion Fight"? You have to do the work in the places of power.  That's not on the streets.  That is inside the places of power.

We have people in there:  people allegedly representing voters.  If your own representatives will not address the economic inequality, unchecked immigration, endless war spending... it's all for naught.  Sure, get outside on a Spring Saturday, stretch your legs, test your vocal cords, wave your signs, but...

protesting on the streets is just something for old boomers to relive the civil rights glory days of their youth in 1960s.  Those street protests were accompanies by so much more.  That's how #Change is created.  Not just by rallying outside of the ballot box.  Hth.  Good luck.

* Not one news report I saw excerpted anything relevant he spent all those hours talking about... Did he read Dr. Seuss, akin to Ted Cruz?  Did he lay out an effective plan to combat our housing needs, feed the war refugees taking shelter here, address the needs of newcomers being exploited as low-paid labor?

Everyone just wondered if he wore diapers, or didn't take a bathroom break during all that speechifying.  #DoTheRealWork  #Don'tJustProtestShowABetterWay

Houston or Duke?

 Who you got?

Love me an #Upset!

Cooper Flagg is 18; he'll still have that height next year...

Houston is a solid team, and they'll face Florida in the final matchup.  Good game.

The Stock Market is Much Like Gambling...

I never got into it really. Couldn't stomach the artificial ups and downs, and had some early losses decades ago that told me I am not much of a gambler... (or good with numbers, risk, or uncertainty, to be honest. I know myself and being a shareholder just was not for me. Not judging others who are invested.)

Just like we tell students that sports "is just a game", remember that life is risk, nothing is ever certain, and there is always tomorrow. I know people are hurting, and there is no happiness at others' financial pain, but have a healthy meal and count your blessings.

Always remember:  Life Goes On.

I don't really care if it's true or not...

 It's could be, and it's a good message... 😒🙏😔

Tonight, I upset someone while driving. They followed me to a gas station and said some angry words. I wasn't sure what I had done wrong. I asked if they were okay and if there was anything I could do to help calm them down. They walked away angrily, and I wished them a good day. Normally, I wouldn't react this way, but as I've gotten older, I try to "Seek to Understand." I realized there was something else going on with them, and my driving wasn't the real issue.

45 minutes later, when I went back to my truck in the school parking lot, I found a note. It reminded me that you never know what someone is going through. It’s always important to seek to understand.

Oh, Master grant that I may never seek

So much to be consoled as to console

To be understood as to understand

To be loved as to love with all my soul...

Prayer of St. Francis (song)

Make me a channel of your peace

Where there is hatred let me bring your loveWhere there is injury, your pardon LordAnd where there is doubt true faith in You
Make me a channel of your peaceWhere there is despair in life let me bring hopeWhere there is darkness only lightAnd where there's sadness ever joy
Oh, Master grant that I may never seekSo much to be consoled as to consoleTo be understood as to understandTo be loved as to love with all my soul
Make me a channel of your peaceIt is in pardoning that we are pardonedIt is in giving to all men that we receiveAnd in dying that we are born to eternal life
Oh, Master grant that I may never seekSo much to be consoled as to consoleTo be understood as to understandTo be loved as to love with all my soul
Make me a channel of your peaceWhere there's despair in life let me bring hopeWhere there is darkness only lightAnd where there's sadness ever JOY! ...

Poor Cory Booker Doesn't Realize DEI is Done

Whoop di do!  The light-skinned pretty black man broke a record in Congress set by an old segregationist who would have blocked his Civil Rights.

What did Cory say? What did he achieve -- in Congress during his long career, or with his talking stunt?  Nothing, absolutely nothing.

Oh we can see right through him:  this stunt was supposed to make him a contender amongst all the other DEI candidates the Dems plan to put up in 2028 as "alternatives" to the boys currently flexing in Trump's stable as we look to see who us going to best shovel out the shit that has accumulated and hardened in Washington DC in the past decades...

Not Amy Klobuchar, the Woman.

Not Pete Buttigieg, the Gay.

and not Cory Booker, the Black.

I don't think Barry Obama, the alleged Chicagoan, would win today.  We're so much smarter and wiser now, and don't believe pretty words.  Congrats on breaking the record for longest filibuster in the Senate, Cory.  Now get back to work?

It's about:  Building More Housing; Securing the Border;  Expelling Criminals and those foreign actors and organizations that want to "take over" our country; Shoring UP our social-safety net programs to meet the needs on the streets and visible in public today to anyone out and about in our country with open eyes...

If you're not with us, you're against us.  If you're not working on those priorities, you're grandstanding.  If you're in office and not getting the job done, DON"T PLAY DEAD and continue to Do NOTHING.  Have the grace to cash in your chips and resign.  If you don't go voluntarily, you will be replaced.

It's a new world this Springtime, and we're not going back to the window-dressing days of DEI.  If a person can do the work and achieve real results that translate to better lives for people in the country, you've got the job and can stay on as a Servant - Leader.  If not, stop wasting our time with your personal best records that don't mean fiddley fig here in the real world.

---------

Can someone in the MSM copy me and get that message clear to those in Washington DC?  Chuck and Nancy... go out with class, don't make us drag your rotting corpses out of the buildings.  Doesn't anybody remember how Ruth Bader Ginsburg trashed her legacy by not getting out alive?

Have We Seen Elon on the News...

 making his concession speech yet?

I hope he leaves that poor little boy of his at home with his mother coloring some books or reading books together or playing cars on the floor.  Home, where all the kids belong.  They can't consent.  Leave the kids alone, that's the message the country sent to Elon tonight...

We're not like you.  We'll never be like you, Rolf.

Thank you, God, for Prayers Answered.

In other news, the good people of Wisconsin took Elon's money and ran.  They have an independent streak, and cannot yet all be bought...

Trump needs to pull the weirdo autistic man from the cover of his campaign magazine.  Guys like him, like his father, do not value life and have no idea how the straight-armed salute, jumping around on the stage at 53 year old, looks to real men and women out here.

He has children he does not acknowledge or take care of, and treats their mother(s) shabbily.  We the American people didn't like that look in a grown-ass Hunter Biden, and the RichestManInTheWorld does not get a pass either...

Boys to Men!  Elon is never going to "grow up" because he doesn't have to.  The Peter Pan fairyness jumping around the stage might play well in HIS mind, but nobody wants to be around that, or associated with that.

The Mad Genius myth is fine:  he can build Starlink, mass manufacture electric vehicles, play the clown puffing lightweight drugs in media interviews, but nobody wants their kid to grow up to resemble that.  Nobody names their child "Elon".

It's not too late for Donald Trump to STOP FIRING WORKERS who are needed to process Tax Returns, and help get through the backlog of Social Security claims.

We have people living on the streets that need to be sorted out here.  It doesn't mean you chose that lifestyle anymore.  We have no place to put people, because we have too many people living here now that the government cannot take care of...

It's NOT the government's job to take care of people, you shout!

Well, it's never been the American government's job to kill them off either.  Except in Wartime.  With people like Elon as the Face of Our Nation (and JD, and MJTandHerBoyfriend, and all the Ugly Ugly people who have glommed onto Trump's coattails...), I don't think the people who won WWII -- that whole generation at home and abroad-- nor the Quiet generation who followed them, would recognize our country anymore...

Fight, Fight, Fight to take back our country from foreign invaders like Elon, determined to remake the whole thing in THEIR image, not in God's.  The Wisconsin victory means something.  It shows that off the Coasts, outside of the MSM, there is still a fighting spirit in the American people that rejects the BigMoneyWays of the World.

We cannot keep going on like this... Human Life Matters here still, and the lives of all living creatures depend on us to protect them.  Good can triumph over Evil, and the leaders will be forced to follow if only to save face, and get back to work doing what they were elected to do:  Help the country, not harm us.

U.S. Out of Gaza NOW!

Congress can end this massacre anytime it wanted by simply shutting off the engine sending all those billions in weaponry to Netanyahu's Israel...  Where is the Democratic leadership and priorities??

They are long in the tooth, Nancy and Chuck.  They no longer need AIPAC's money to fund their lifestyles and campaigns.  Why can't they be brave and turn off the Killing Machine?  It might chug on for days, even years to come, but...

They hold the keys and can flip the switch and show us if they value human life and non-fatal leadership any time they choose...  "I Wanna See You Be Brave!" on the way out.  #Repent and #DoTheRightThing.

What are we waiting for???  Does Human Life still have value?  Do innocent children matter?  "Do Unto Others as You'd Have Done to You"... If now now, when?  If not you, who?  God knows, if you have a voice, and prioritize life, you will Fight, Fight, Fight to preserve it.  The life you save might be your own...

because you can't expect leadership to come from the Congress that led us here via their inaction, "going along to get along", and continued ignorance of the problems that the Dems are finally being forced to acknowledge happened on their watch and with their bipartisan blessing. (RIP Ross Perot)

Talk on, Sen. Booker, but the truth is:  knowing what we know today, not many voters would fall for Barry Obama's promises and pretty talk again, no matter how diversely packaged. (Even Bill Clinton, and his wife, have been shown to be the hypocrites they always were... #Truth)

Cory Booker Slams Trump’s Policies in Marathon Senate Floor Speech

The New Jersey senator criticized the president’s plans for Social Security, education and health care, saying the “nation is in crisis.” He was still speaking in the predawn hours.

We're not going back.  The status quo in this country is shattering as much as the once-strong and stable Middle Class.

*even the "journolists" who collectively collaborated to silence critics who knew Obama's past (lack of) work in Chicago realize he can't butter their bread anymore... Looking at you Ezra (and Annie*, his then future wife, the "expert" who was so often cited to push the preferred narrative in the press... It paid off for them personally, as it did the Obama family, but look at where they have now left the country as a whole.)

* I believe I was the first one who informed Ezra in the comments section of the journalistic rule that you disclose your personal interests/conflicts in citing sources.  After that, he disclosed. ("This is my girlfriend/wife;  take her expertise in backing up the narrative we are pushing worth a grain of salt."  There's a reason real journalists -- not Democratic activists -- can "hold power to account" by reporting what is really happening in our country.  The MSM has failed us, and still are.  We know what is being paid for, in our name, overseas and at home.  Unmitigated greed, unaccountable destruction. and our working-class tax dollars paying for all the failure.
