Saber Rattling in the Mid East, Again...

Bret "the bed bug" Stephens pushing Jewish ethnic superiority...

the stabbing of 5 by the mentally ill Black Hebrew at a NY rabbi's home...

We're not being race-baited here at home for that war with Iran the boys like Stephens are always pushing, are we? How many more Midwestern American boys will be called on to make the world safe for Israel?

IS THE NYT GOING TO TAKE US TO ANOTHER POINTLESS WAR IN THE MIDEAST THAT BENEFITS NO ONE BUT ISRAEL, AGAIN??

We Liked Trump...

Because he kept us OUT of wars.

George W. was a dummy
Obama was a patsy.
One warred, the other followed.

Let us see if President Trump is indeed stupid enough to continue "supporting our military" by putting American military might over American brainpower. I think he is smarter than that, courting more Mid East wars for US.

When you have the men in uniform with guns planning our foreign policy, we as a country have already lost the war. They work for us, the US citizens and taxpayers. They serve the country, not the other way around...

Why People Dislike Jews...

Anti-Semitic Attacks Put New York on Edge

A man was charged with hate crimes in a stabbing at a rabbi's house in the suburbs. The city's police commissioner has vowed to "keep the Jewish community safe."

At whose expense will "the Jewish community" be kept safe?
Remember the dead Rutgers co-ed stabbed to DEATH?
Why isn't the community protecting white girls too?

How much better for the Jews in New York had that story summary read: "A man was charged with an assault crime in a stabbing at a rabbi's house in the suburbs. The city's police commissioner has vowed to "keep the New York community safe" in the face of an uptick in recent crimes against New Yorkers.

Be careful about providing special services to special people. Eventually, there will be a backlash.

World War III?
Iranians storm U.S. Embassy, Nov. 4, 1979 -
Nov 4, 2017 - On this day in 1979, student followers of the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini send shock waves across America when they stormed the U.S. Embassy in Tehran. President Jimmy Carter called the hostages “victims of terrorism and anarchy” and added: “The United States will not yield ...

One thing I have noticed about Americans, we just don't know when we have it good. Always courting trouble, and then when we find it: it is never our fault, eh?

We should have brought all of our troups and embassy people from the Middle East region long long ago. IT is simply not our fight, and we have killed enough civilians and innocents that we'd likely lose the population of a small to mid-sized state here, were they to take one of ours out for every one of theirs we have killed...

Americans are stupid sometimes because they pick these fights abroad ("HooRah! Tough Guy Warriors all equipped up), and think the troubles will never come to our own doorsteps. That we are somehow immune, and fat, and this is all a joke...

IT's not a joke, really.
If Americans do not start acting more like civilized beings on this Earth, I hate to see what will come of all of us. Be warned. One-sided aggression against what you consider a lesser or weaker other rarely lasts. Especially against those who have so little to lose. (Only their lives, it seems.) Eventually, you get hit back.

Are we ready for that at home? If not, we should not always be in attack mode. #CommonSense101

ADDED:
The protesters raised flags of the powerful paramilitary group Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces), of which Kataib Hezbollah is part, and several people climbed over the wall of the embassy and chanted "death to America" and "no, no America", witnesses said.

Tuesday's attempted embassy storming took place after mourners held funerals for fighters killed in a Baghdad neighbourhood, after which they marched on to the heavily fortified Green Zone and kept walking till they reached the embassy.

Security guards were seen retreating to the inside of the embassy. Protesters also were seen hanging yellow flags belonging to the Kataib Hezbollah on the walls of the embassy.

Speaking from the scene in Baghdad, Al Jazeera's Simona Foltyn said there was no indication of an armed confrontation so far.
It is not our land, and George W. Bush's illegal wars are not forgotten THERE. (Where my purple-fingered people now? Where the schools the US military promised to build for the little girls, to make life better for the women and children over there like W. promised?) We were killing for GOOD, soldiers as missionaries to give out candy, pose for pics, help them vote, promote peace...

How foolish we were. Confusing religious missionary work with what we want our soldiers to do. Now, it's all mixed up, the good guys have good bad (look at the suicide rates here at home!) and we live in a pro-gun, no-respect-for-life culture, here at home...

America? You Built This.
Thanks George W. Bush enablers.

Sorry but This is a Piss Poor Article.

If the sport world seriously had made such progress in gender equity -- and for all of Megan Rapinoe's trash talk and equal-pay demands, she hasn't had any impact there yet; they just don't bring in as much as the mens' game -- (then why would you put the coverage of the WNBA championship in parentheses, and not mention the top athletes on THAT team?)

Megan Rapinoe is a distraction.
And as a (drunken) spokeswoman, she's trite too.
Like a "grown" Greta Thunberg.

‘We Have to Be Better’: Megan Rapinoe and the Year of Victory and Advocacy

By Liz Robbins

Of all the brilliant fireworks of the 2019 sports season, the color purple — and the woman who wore it — defined the year.

Megan Rapinoe brazenly led the United States women’s national soccer team to a World Cup victory in France in July, her purple hair a banner for the right to be different but equal. In a polarized political climate, the championship reminded us of the growing power of athletes and their voices.
...
On the steps of New York’s City Hall for the ticker-tape parade, Rapinoe used her platform with the same precision and unabashed style she showed as the top goal scorer in the World Cup.

This is my charge to everyone: We have to be better. We have to love more and hate less. Listen more and talk less,” she said, adding, “It is our responsibility to make this world a better place.”*
...
Rapinoe and her teammates led the charge for equal pay with their men’s team counterparts, suing the national soccer federation for gender discrimination in March. With their case pending and the team marching through the World Cup, Rapinoe then sparred with President Trump over his stance on racial justice. She promised (in salty language) not to visit the White House if the team won. Trump told her to win first.

A month after the team won the World Cup, mediation talks between the soccer federation and the women broke down. A judge set a May 2020 trial date, two months before the Olympics in Tokyo.

------------------

The Washington Nationals became the darling of the baseball world after starting the season 19-31, with a 1.5 percent chance to win the World Series. But the 1 percent did what no team had ever done: captured a World Series in which the visiting team won every game. Against the Houston Astros, the Nationals brought home Washington’s first title since 1924. (Just three weeks before the Nationals won, the Washington Mystics set the city stage in capturing the franchise’s first W.N.B.A title.)

For all of the Nationals’ late-night heroics — “Stay in the Fight” was their motto — the team will also be remembered for what happened around and off the field. During Game 5, the celebrity activist chef José Andrés threw out the first pitch, not Trump. The president did attend the game, and fans greeted him mostly with boos.

Just five days after winning the World Series, the home team found itself embroiled in backlash by accepting a White House invitation.

The catcher Kurt Suzuki wore a “Make America Great Again” hat. The pitcher Sean Doolittle conspicuously stayed away. Doolittle, an activist who has worked with refugees, told The Washington Post that he could not support the president because he uses divisive rhetoric, mocks the disabled, does not respect gay rights and has a poor record on racial justice.

To win the N.B.A. title, Toronto ended the Golden State Warriors’ dynasty with an eclectic group: Pascal Siakam of Cameroon, Marc Gasol of Spain, Serge Ibaka of Congo and Los Angeles-born Kawhi Leonard, all assembled by Masai Ujiri, the Raptors general manager, who is a Briton of Nigerian heritage.

One moment of dissonance that threatened the N.B.A.’s reputation and underscored the disruptive power of sports began when Daryl Morey, the general manager of the Houston Rockets, sent a tweet in support of Hong Kong protesters on Oct. 4, on the eve of the Rockets playing a preseason game in China: “Fight for Freedom, Stand With Hong Kong.”

The Chinese government was furious and demanded that the N.B.A. fire Morey. After a tepid first response, Adam Silver, the N.B.A. commissioner, asserted Morey’s right to free speech and said he would not even discipline him. Chinese companies pulled their sponsorship from the N.B.A. and refused until late in the year to broadcast games.

Blah blah blah...
See that one bolded paragraph for WNBA coverage, compared to several for each of the American men's sports?

Tweet Deleted, but Is It True?

More information is coming out about the mentally ill black man who stabbed 5 Jewish people in a rabbi's home in Monsey, NY. The media has yet to confirm or deny, it seems.

Ken Cuccinelli, the Trump administration’s acting director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, claimed in a morning tweet that 38-year-old Grafton Thomas, a U.S. citizen who allegedly stabbed five people at a Hanukkah party over the weekend, was the “son of an illegal alien who got amnesty under the 1986 amnesty law for illegal immigrants.” It’s not clear where Cuccinelli got that information or if it was correct.

“Apparently, American values did not take hold among this entire family, at least this one violent, and apparently bigoted, son,” Cuccinelli wrote.

Cuccinelli has pushed for aggressive anti-immigrant policies since his time as a state lawmaker in Virginia. For the Trump White House, he has argued against birthright U.S. citizenship for children of undocumented parents.

Federal Hate Crime Enhancers Added ...

to the stabbing charges at the rabbi's home in New York.

Too bad the gunman in Texas who went into the Christian church targeting worshipping Christians was immediately killed after taking a life. (Too bad he couldn't have been as quickly subdued, and taken alive, I mean...)

I honestly wonder of our federal government in America today if a suspect targeting -- and killing -- Christians in White Settlement, Texas would get the same special hate-crime treatment as the mentally-ill black man allegedly targeting the Jews in New York did. *How did he know it was a rabbi's home, I wonder? Wss there some previous connection before the stabbing suspect travelled 20 miles to "get them"?

I'd sure hate to see our country go the way of Israel, where the ethnic background of citizens matters in determining the justice they ultimately get... Suspect I am not alone out here in that thinking. #UPLURIBUSUNUM NeverForget

Texas church shooting is latest of many attacks at US houses of worship in recent years

Two men were killed and another man was injured in a shooting at a church in Texas on Sunday -- the latest in a string of attacks at houses of worship in recent years.

Sunday's shooting unfolded around 9:57 a.m. at the West Freeway Church of Christ, which is located in the city of White Settlement, just outside of Fort Worth.

A spokeswoman for MedStar Mobile Healthcare, an ambulance service, told The Associated Press that two people had been shot and killed, one of them the gunman; a third person, in critical condition, suffered cardiac arrest but was revived.

An elder at the church told the New York Times that one of those killed was a security guard who responded to the shooter, calling him a dear friend. “He was trying to do what he needed to do to protect the rest of us,” Mike Tinius said.

"I'll Get You" My Pretties (and yr lil dog too!)

The NYT has updated its coverage of the stabbing at the New York rabbi's house:

Intruder in Monsey Screamed ‘I’ll Get You’ in Machete Attack on Jews

The rampage at a rabbi’s home in the New York suburbs wounded five people and traumatized the Jewish community in the region.
13m ago
------------------

The words he allegedly screamed at them are not that newsworthy, sounds like the Wicked Witch in the Wizard. This event calls for a hard-news hed, not melodrama.

How about reworking the hed, to provide more information in our identity-politics day, so the Jews don't fear White Supremacists/Trump supporters or Midwest Christians were behind these attacks?

Black man arrested in Harlem for Stabbing Five in Monsey
The rampage at a rabbi’s home in the New York suburbs wounded five people and traumatized the Jewish community in the region.
And, when people start contemplating Jewish-Black relations in America today, especially in urban areas where inequity is winning and pushing out the black natives, maybe they will re-consider the problems with handing every black man in America a stack of cash for "reparations".

The Rutgers girl who was stabbed to Death?

She wasn't Jewish, was she?

A Hate Crime in Rockland County?

Police have captured a suspect in a multi-stabbing at an Orthodox Jewish rabbi's home in the DC suburbs, and after arresting a suspect in Harlem, are now turning their investigation into a hate-crime investigation. One person was seriously injured. No word yet on the suspect's race or religion. I assume they will tell us if he is not white, so that fears of white supremacy in this country are not overblown, with generic Whites in the Midwest being blamed in what might be a Black-on-White-Jewish east coast crime here.

This lady's quote, about living in one of the wealthiest suburban counties of DC -- and growing! -- caught me by surprise, an indication perhaps, of what "meme" the allegedly intelligent people in the old-school organized-media marketplace will be pushing now.

“It’s very scary,” she said, of being Jewish in Rockland County.

Like Rahm Emanual taught in Chicago -- before black voters kicked him and his reform to the dirty curbs in favor of authentic black leadership, after Rahm overcame his residency issues and became the first Jewish mayor that Daley had appointed his successor when the other Daley brother got the temporary Commerce job in the Obama administration: never let a good crisis go to waste. Make it pay off, somehow, for your people. Already, the actions of this one individual in the DC stabbing are international news; politicians are falling over themselves to assign manpower, money and special resources to this particular crime...

Israeli President Reuven Rivlin also condemned the attack, saying on Twitter that a collective effort is needed to stop future incidents.

“Shocked and outraged by the terrible attack in #NY and praying for the recovery of those injured. #Antisemitism is not just a #Jewish problem, and certainly not just the State of #Israel's problem," he said.
Do #JewishLives just matter more, in some circles?*

If splitting the blacks and Jews in America seems to be beneficial to some people politically -- not "Quien es muy macho?" but "Who is the Biggest Victim?" -- then will will see Big Boys (and Girls) competing for the title.

Nobody wins, but the "Whites" lose, is the hope of the minority groups, I think. We've seen this scenario played out in urban areas across the country, but one wonders what turn it will take in the nation's capital, with all the taxpayer money floating freely in the economy, up for grabs by the Victim's Group fundings that seems to be never-ending, until one day the victims collectively wake up, and it is no longer there for them.

Good luck to the police investigating the stabbing crime, let's hope they put the hate-crime determination on the backburner until they learn if everyone is indeed safe now, and what instigated the dispute in the first place.

-----------------

* Why are there no outcries for justice internationally every time a black person is killed or injured in America? Don't the Israeli Jews care about peace on earth for humanity, justice for all?

Does Christ's message even penetrate and elevate the discussion in Israel with its dwindling Christian population, that we are all the sons and daughters of God? Oh, and are sexx crimes, including underage rape by Jewish men against non-Jewish women somehow a lesser crime than a stabbing that superficially wounded four -- skin lacerations -- and seriously injuried ONE?

Maybe if the allegedly woke Jews work for justice outside their group affiliations they would not need special protections or to be singled out for the hate-crime enhancers? Better to work for justice within the communities as a whole in America than to advocate that special resources be taken from other communities to serve your ethnic/religious group here in America.

We don't discriminate like that, and in time, these hate-crime enhancers will be found illegal and unconstitutional in America, I suspect, preferencing this particular group over that one, not in working to eliminate crime so much, but to shore up attention to victimization memes and to ensure that certain victims get special treatment allowing them a special escape of the seemingly growing economic violence endemic in the community and country as a whole.

This too is the face of inequality, and perhaps the consequence of not evaluating by the content of character, but of artificial and ethnic and religious distinctions. (Be careful what you wish for, one intelligent saying goes...)

Joe Gonna Show?

Apparently so.

News reports, updated since I wrote the Eric Ciaramella post below, say that candidate Biden has changed his mind, and indeed will comply with the subpoena asking him about his son's business dealings in the Ukraine that the President asked his foreign counterpart to look into before releasing millions of dollars in taxpayer aid to that countr

If Biden's son -- and Pelosi's daughter and a slew of other politicians whose children are also alleged to be "doing business" in the region and taking in millions in unearned fees -- was not qualified for the work he was allegedly doing and indeed was trading on his parent's political name, well that would be at least one good thing to learn from the impeachment hearings.

You thought we were kidding about cleaning up Washington, escorting out the deathbed politicians like Nancy Pelosi who have had their years in service and need to be taken off the DC dole, with her children too if need be?

We Trump voters were dead serious about that!
No status quo acceptance of "business as usual, the DC way", even if the current media leaders -- many of whom inherited their jobs based on family connections -- want to look away at the children in Washington asking what their country can do for them abroad, what kind of money the Biden or Pelosi or Clinton name, say, brings a grown child...

This is how inequality, and poor international policies, are created. You ask, when interviewing, who is this person related to here? Rather than asking whether their skill set is competitive in hiring the best, not just the best connected.

Looking forward to some intelligent questions being asked of Biden. IF he's really the clueless father that he pretends, well, voters should know that too.

Bring it on, 2020! Let's shed a light on all those dark corners where the secrets to success lie. That's how we learn and grow, not by networking our own into power artificially.

First Joe. Then Eric.
Some come voluntarily when urged and nudged.
Some I suspect, we are going to have to subpoena, kicking and screaming... Legally, we can do that too.

------------------

FAIRFIELD, Iowa — Joseph R. Biden Jr. backtracked on Saturday from his stated position that he would not comply with a subpoena to testify in President Trump’s impeachment trial in the Senate. Instead, he declared that he would abide by “any subpoena that was sent to me” even as he insisted there was no justification for calling him as a witness.A day after reaffirming that he would not comply with a subpoena, Mr. Biden tried twice on Saturday to clarify his remarks, asserting that there would be no “legal basis” for such a subpoena but left it unclear, for much of the day, if he would ultimately comply with one.

Eric Ciaramella Should Speak Up Now...

If our new national nightmare is to continue into the next decade, we need the whisteblower to come forward now with his information, and why he is hiding.  His interactions with Adam Schiff need to come to light.

The journalists in Washington do not want to do the work here, but I suspect they will be forced to acknowledge Eric Ciaramella's role in this partisan impeachment party that he helped to plan, but now declines an invitation to.

Stop hiding, Mr. Ciaramella.
You're a man, not a child, and you are in deep, now.  The country needs to hear from you, and to evaluate your credibility as a witness, a whistleblower and a young Washington bureaucrat seemingly willing to do anything to keep a job in DC.

And if this impeachment thing is indeed going to be carried on? Hunter Biden's role in the Ukraine, working on behalf of America or not, needs to be fully discussed too. Sorry Joe, but nobody's boys are going to be shielded here.

See Ciaramella, Eric, pictured above.

Poor Bret Stephens.

He is not as smart as the people who pay him think he is.  That's his schtick -- writing dumb things then crying "anti semitism" when you call him on them. ("I am NOT a bedbug!)

But so long as people keep on paying to hear and read him and have their own biases reinforced, then like with Ezra Klein, he's got a future in the journolism business.  But the rest of us don't have to subsidize his dumbery, or play along that we are putting his children at risk when we call him out for not being as genetically superior to other races and religions as he thinks.

Praying for ya, Bret!  (Can you afford a career time-out maybe, to rethink your priorities and address the media criticism before it blows up in your employers' face? Could the Times stage an intervention with other working-class journalists, allegedly genetically "lessers", to help Mr. Stephens overcome his Jewish superiority discrimination viewpoints that have made his career to this point, but in this demographic age, will surely end it prematurely? It's dangerous to trade short-term gains for long-term security.  Doesn't he know his history?)

Stephens' most recent Jewish column -- at Christmastime -- can be seen as a cry for help.  So help him already:  re-educate him to why the source material he cites matters, and how he needs to employ critical thinking, even as he positions himself a victim.  Eugenic theory can only be overcome with education, and with all his credentials, Stephens is woefully sheltered.

It's like he went to the University of Chicago to learn, but never set foot off campus and opened his eyes.  That's a criticism of Jewish scholarship in general -- so laser-focused on details often, that the big picture realities are missed.  Stacking the columnist deck with white Jewish men for so long at the Times has come back to haunt them, I think.

That's a danger of legacy leadership too.
Hiring a young person because their parent who was a somebody in the shop once worked there too,, and paid to credential the child in the same way.  And thinking that such working skills are genetically inheritable, instead of systematically sheltering...

It we want the best people to lead, we have to break the entitlement chains that lift so many lesser-qualifieds over other better-prepared-in-reality candidates. # It's Time.

(If the Trump years have not taught us that, the learning curve in the years ahead will be even rougher for softer men like Bret Stephens and his sons, and those who have inherited the leadership mantle at the former national newspaper of repute, but are clueless as to where they want to help lead the country.  Thankfully, the country has tuned out such leadership, and listens less and less to genetic explanations for success or failure, and more on the character of content.  That's why the Bushes and Clintons have been driven from Washington, Mr. Stephens, and the neo-cons/Never Trumpers/war-mongers-who-needed-bailouts are in exile and would be wise to remain there for decades to come...)

 ADDED:
In the demographics-diversity battle that the Times has been courting for years, it will be fun to watch a showdown between Kara "I'm a Man, Baby!" Squisher -- she's known as a loud, lesbian journalist known for calling for censorship and making demands of tech companies, and paying to create multiple families (just like a man, baby!)  -- versus the Jewish intellectual Stephens, who chafes when you call him names other than Jew-genius.

Will Squisher crush the bedbug?
Will Stephens silence Squisher's call to shut down honest discussion in the American marketplace of ideas?  We really shouldn't call this journalism, more like "entertainment newspapering".  And that is what pay-to-play diversity brings us... false conversations, baited columns, cries of who's a bigger victim, while our history of American civics and society is flushed down the toilet in the battle-aftermaths of these diverse minorities who are out of touch with our country.

Is this what the NYT is paying for, honestly?  Controversy that brings clicks?  Sad.

"Impeachment Is Over (if you want it...)"

"Extending of the Olive Branch"
Internet legal corridors are alive this morning, analyzing Speaker Nancy Pelosi's latest move to stall, or perhaps never bring, the now-passed House of Representative Articles of Impeachment to trial in the Senate. Big-time Constitutional confusion over procedure and process: Heaven knows, even the legal beagles do not relish defining/creating the rules at play, which are ultimately irrelevant this go-around since we all know how the final score will come out after the Senate vote...

If this were a Court case, the clerks would be instructed to work overtime to figure out a way to deny hearing it, I suspect.

----------------------

An Internet pundit asks:
Let's assume the Senate will do nothing until the House managers come forward to present their case. If they never do so, what happens? Do the people care? Is "impeachment" degraded into weird futile swatting at the President?
Proper political spin:
Moral victory for the Democrats. Let them have their win...

The party gets to go down in history as having bi-partisanly impeached President Trump in the House. Like the two other presidents: impeachment, but of no consequence. Still, politically, this is what the all-but-extreme Dems wanted, expected, and "won": the moral victory, the historical asterisk, the presidential ... stain.

But the adventure necessarily ends here.

It's the "bad ass" brand:
no real consequence, no change, just complaining and then celebrating in an overdone fashion a victory over "the Man". But the Man remains standing -- the dude abides -- while the self-proclaimed "bad asses" bunch, maybe winning a public kiss for their efforts, maybe strutting off stage after a dramatic mic drop, maybe laying in rotunda after giving the country's voters a big thumbs-down on matters much later corrected in the courts, for those still keeping track of long-term results and drawing conclusions from consequences...

The Dems have their brand: for so many, this is what an artificial victory smells like. This is the morning-after, the time of looking in the mirror, and only belatedly contemplating: What have we done? What happens now?

Let them up easy, I say.
Help them up, even, from their reclining positions to finding their feet...

It will be less costly to the taxpayers to end it all here -- "Impeachment Over (if you want it...)" And politically, what a gracious gift for the new Republicans to share with the nations.

  • Minneapolis' effort to win support for Upper Harbor Terminal project runs into turbulence: Minneapolis plans to ask the Legislature for $20 million for the massive redevelopment of the former Upper Harbor Terminal in the North Side, even as leaders of a community group tasked with refining the plan have resigned or spoken out in protest.
  • Ecolab spinning off energy business: Ecolab Inc. has agreed to spin off one of its energy businesses and simultaneously merge it with a Texas company to create a company with $3.5 billion in sales.

Percentage of Americans Favoring Impeachment

That number factors in the Americans who favor impeaching President Trump because they think it will only hurt Democrats in next year's presidential election... right?

If you think the House is overreaching, and you think the president will not be removed in the Senate, then you might like the current course the Democrats are taking: politicizing impeachment; playing to their anti-Trump base; and effectively sabotaging the Biden presidential run, which African-American voters especially seem to support...

Hey, Hey, Hey... Good Bye.

The Brits vote to re-elect Boris Johnson which means one thing:  the Brexit vote was no fluke.  The people really want out of the EU.

It would be lovely to see Ireland a reunited country again, as God -- and geography -- have designed.  #DareToDream.

Trump to Campus Jews: "I'm from the gub'mint, here to protect you"

The natives are rightly suspicious.

 NYT coverage:

Yousef Munayyer, the executive director of the U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights and a Palestinian citizen of Israel: “Israeli apartheid is a very hard product to sell in America, especially in progressive spaces, and realizing this, many Israeli apartheid apologists, Trump included, are looking to silence a debate they know they can’t win.”

“Would threaten freedom of expression on campus”
The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, an organization that advocates free speech on campus:
While the order is couched in language intended to paper over the readily evident threat to expressive rights, its ambiguous directive and fundamental reliance on the IHRA definition and its examples will cause institutions to investigate and censor protected speech on their campuses. Having spent 20 years defending speakers from across the political spectrum, FIRE knows all too well that colleges and universities will rush to punish student and faculty speakers in an attempt to avoid federal investigation and enforcement.
Marjorie N. Feld, professor of history at Babson College:
As a professor of U.S. history and a scholar of American Jewish life, I have traced the history of attempts to silence debate over Israel/Palestine, and it is clear that this EO will not fight the growth of anti-Semitism or make Jewish students safer on campus. Instead, it will prevent essential collaborations and will, without question, have a chilling effect on our freedom of speech.
Part of a campaign “to silence Palestinian rights activism”
Peter Beinart, a writer and professor at the City University of New York: “So according to Trump, ‘denying the Jewish people self-determination’ is now bigotry, which loses a college government funds. Denying Palestinians the right to self-determination, by contrast, is US + Israeli policy.”

Mark Joseph Stern in Slate:
It’s unclear whether Wednesday’s order will have any impact, given that it mostly just reaffirms the current law. … It raises the faint possibility that, in some case down the road, a student’s sharp criticism of Israel may be used as evidence of anti-Semitic intent after he has been accused of targeting Jews because of their perceived race or nationality. Is this order red meat for Republicans who believe colleges are increasingly hostile to Jews? Probably. Will it quash the pro-Palestine movement on campuses or impose an unwanted classification on American Jews? Absolutely not.

Best thing America could do for Israel today is to cut off US taxpayer aid for a year. Let the Israel state try standing on its own feet, without American protections or financial support.  I suspect internally a lot of decisions will be made differently about political policy and leadership if America, the Big Brother Perpetual Protector,  no longer extends military or financial aid to the prosperous country in the troubled region.  It's a tough neighborhood, but it's not ours.*  It's up to Israelis to determine if they can independently keep their democracy intact, with the accompanying ethnic discrimination internally amongst its own citizens, without the United States taxpayers, and military, effectively propping it up and supporting the apartheid.

*  We've got border issues and neighborhood troubles of our own, economic distress creeping northward threatening the future of American social programs. Some of us are concerned about Americans security here at home in the near future when the funds run dry. OK Boomers? (who have never had to think past tomorrow...)

Rapinoe Endorsing CBD's.

Next year is the Summer Olympics.
Today, MRapinoe is endorsing hemp-derived CBD medical products, to help her heal...

Who would like to take my early bet that the "I DESERVE THIS!!" drunk lady on the parade float does not lead the USA team to the gold next year?

I'd love to think otherwise, that she is indeed as strong and disciplined a professional athlete as we've been led to believe, but I don't buy it myself.  I just don't see the US women's team winning gold next year, after all the celebrating and grandstanding and posing...

CBD's eh?  A prominent athlete like that, allegedly admired by kids across the country, should be negotiating to endorse better products, even if she is a user herself.  What sponsors would want to sign on now, with the CBD "healing products" she is pushing?  I don't think they yet sell that to kids and most athletes are smart enough to steer clear.

I wanted a healthier, more natural option for pain management, sleep aid, relaxtion while flying, and general recovery.*
My final 2cents?  Megan does not look all that healthy lately in those posed pics either.   Let's see if the CBD's can reverse the effects of so much "celebrating", and work the magic they promise.  I think physically, she's peaked. (not baked so much, but peaked.)
Were they going for the pretty Lizzie Borden look, do you think?
(Ministry:  "I dress this way just to keep them at bay, cuz Halloween is every day!")

Sadly for her, it's a cheap website too. No copy editors even, to correctly spell the word "relaxation."  If you need CBDs to help you fly and sleep, you body is in trouble already.

But this happened in Wisconsin too...

Trooper Jones and River the dog.
(FOX 9) - A Wisconsin state trooper using a drone helped locate a puppy and reunite it with its owner after it went missing following a car crash last Friday.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation said a driver and her dog were traveling on Wisconsin Highway 57 in Brown County Friday morning when a deer darted onto the road. The driver swerved to avoid the deer and crashed her vehicle into the median. She was taken to a hospital for her injuries.

The dog, a three-month-old Australian Shepherd named River, ran from the vehicle after the crash. Emergency responders searched the area, but were unable to locate the dog. The driver’s family and friends spent several hours searching for River near the crash site.

A state trooper, identified by WisDOT as Trooper Jones, responded to the scene. The trooper was a certified drone pilot, so he put his drone into the air to help search for the dog.

Jones spotted paw prints near a mound of snow-covered grass. He walked to the location and found River hiding in the grass. The dog was scared, but uninjured.

After getting checked out at the local animal hospital, the dog was reunited with its owner.

It's Here Now, in Wisconsin.

No denying -- open borders, with a catch-and-release policy into the country and no credible tracking or followup -- leads to sex trafficking in Wisconsin. And God Bless the liberals, they still think they are "helping".

TOWNSHIP OF MANCHESTER, Wis. (FOX 9) - A girl who was being sex trafficked escaped from an eastern Wisconsin home where she was being held captive by six undocumented Guatemalan immigrants late last month, a Wisconsin sheriff says.

According to the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the girl called 911 after escaping around 10:45 p.m. Nov. 28 from a home in the Township of Manchester.

She was found on the side of the road by a sheriff’s deputy and the victim gave police information that prompted an investigation.

Full Disclosure? My friend Mal Swanda, NR Class of '77, was a goaltender, played by the rules, much beloved by teammates even years later at the reunions. "Our Goalie".

Don't Take Cheap Shots on the Goalie.
(Can we be any more clear here, Adam and Molly, Jan and Cindy? I'm hoping Dane and Nick aren't involved but tell them too... No More Cheap Shots on the Goalie will be Tolerated. Period. You get so caught up in your lies that you forget to cover your tracks...)

I'll Take "Overrated Female Idols" for $200, Alex.

Don't you wish you knew what Malala was thinking about M. Pinoe here?

Don't you wish Greta Thunberg were pictured too?

Give me an everyday working woman over special celebrity people anyday. We don't get awards or bonus pay necessarily, but we are the women who keep the world moving. And we're not overrated so much as underexposed.

In time, I suspect we have chosen the better lot. Celebrity burns bright, but also flames out so fast...

Lesson Learned?*

Don't show up to your job interview wearing a Kunte Kinte shirt, 20 miles away from where your interview/workout was originally set.

NFL has ‘moved on’ from Kaepernick, Roger Goodell says

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell spoke to reporters at the league’s winter meetings about last month’s scheduled workout for Colin Kaepernick. The commissioner indicated the league has walked away from setting up any more opportnuities for the former player.
...
“This was about creating an opportunity. We created that opportunity. It was a unique opportunity, a credible opportunity,” Goodell said, according to Reuters, “and he chose not to take it. I understand that.

“We’ve moved on,” the commissioner added, suggesting that the league was finished considering Kaepernick for future workouts or team roster openings.

He's another one, like Greta, where you have to wonder if he's got any credible grown-ups in his life to listen to.

------------------------

* Prince effectively pulled the same trick back in the day, when he showed up with the word SLAVE written on his face during a recording contract dispute. He grew up, washed his face, and learned though.** And arguably was much more uniquely talented than Kaepernick in his field.

** Too bad the lesson of the earlier drug overdose, and emergency plane stoppage in Chicago for the NarCan shot, didn't take though...

Substance vs. Symbolism.

Why isn't Greta Thunberg enrolled in school, studying science and learning how to contribute to her society, as well as to criticize earlier others whom she accuses of stealing her future. Does she really intend to remain a dumb schoolgirl forever? Why isn't she enrolled in hard science classes, working toward a STEM degree so that she can secure her own future instead of simply making a name for herself bitching and moaning about how her future has been stolen from her? Aren't there any adults in her life capable of steering her away from celebrity into substance? Is this an Aspbergers's thing -- disability excuses over education/work that others with the same illness manage to overcome to contribute to society and their own upkeep?

Did someone promise Thunberg her life would be a rose garden? ("Well I beg your pardon... In this world of sunshine, there's gonna be a little rain, sometime.")

It's the same thought I had when I see #MeToo and #BlackLivesMatter activists blocking state fair entrances, or screaming in traffic about their personal causes while inconveniencing working others: Why aren't these children in a classroom studying up so they can be admitted to law schools where they can get into the legal game and make a real difference?

The dirty truth is: anybody can "protest" and shout in the streets. It is much much harder to actually educate yourself to the issues, and get a job where you can make change in society. But the gays did it. From inside... from the legislatures, to the courtrooms, to the classrooms, to our own hearts and homes.

If you want it, you have to WORK for it.
Shouting at successful others, or worse -- trying to silence them -- is not how you create lasting legal change. Celebrity fame is a poor man's settlement, instead. Somebody should try to teach Greta that, at least.

Reporter: "Do You Hate the President?!?"

Nancy Pelosi (angrily): "Is the Pope Catholic?"

I wish the Speaker would stop using her personal religion in politics when it is convenient for her, while disavowing religion in politics when we talk about American Christian values in our populace and how those values influence our votes, in practice.

Donald J. Trump:
Just read the best Maureen Dowd column, in the New York Times, EVER (although she treated me great before politics), but it was written by her brother, Kevin. Someone in the News Media should hire her wonderful, talented, and very smart brother!

Maureen Dowd retweeted Donald J. Trump:

Editorial cartoon: Dana Summers

Fwiw, this one ran in the Minneapolis Star Tribune today and fairly represents, I think, the general (non) support in this region for impeachment. (Mr. Summers is a cartoonist for the Orlando Sentinel, and local Star-Trib editors choose from the syndicated editorial cartoons which ones are published for local readers. Again... fwiw, if Democratic party leaders are monitoring the mood of the nation, they should listen less to media sources and more to the nation's voters, I think.)

In related news, California candidate Kamala Harris dropped from the presidential race today after the predicted support for her candidacy, made by political analysts and media sources early on, failed to materialize nationally. Nationally, no one appears to be gaining traction in the race, and Democratic diversity leaders are fretting that all the December debate qualifiers may be pale faced... Not the type of white Christmas they were wishing for, clearly.

Back to the drawing board for the identity-politics political strategies?

Tull Tune for Today.

And as you push off from the shore...
won't you turn your head once more?
And make your peace with everyone?
For those who choose to stay...
will live just one more day...
to do the things they should've done.
And as you cross the wilderness...
spinning in your emptiness...:
If you have to, Pray!
Searching for a sign...
that the Universal Mind...
has written you into the Passion Play!
Skating away.... skating awa-hey! Skating away,
on the thin ice of the new day...
And as you cross the circle line
to the corners of your mind, (my hearing of the line);
Well, the ice wall creaks behind)-- (actual lyric, hmm.)
You're a rabbit on the run...
